Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Meanwhile ("we", "our", "us") operates the website at meanwhile.cash and the Meanwhile browser extension available on the Chrome Web Store. Our service lets users earn USDC credits for verified ad impressions shown while an AI assistant is generating a response.

2. What we collect

Browser extension

  • Anonymous install ID — a randomly generated UUID created on first install. It never contains your name, email, or any other identifying information. It is used solely to count impressions and attribute earnings to your device.
  • Locale and timezone — sent with each ad request so advertisers can target by language and region. We do not store your precise location or IP address.
  • Impression and click events — when you view or click a sponsored message, we record the event against your install ID along with a timestamp and the decision ID. This is the basis for calculating your payout.
  • Extension version — included in ad requests to help us maintain compatibility across releases.

Website (meanwhile.cash)

  • Email address or wallet address — if you create a payout account via Privy, we receive the email address or wallet you authenticate with. This is used only to identify your account and deliver USDC payouts.
  • Payout wallet address — stored so we can send USDC to your Base wallet when you cash out.
  • Display name — an optional public username shown on the earnings leaderboard. You choose this; it defaults to nothing.

3. What we do not collect

  • The content of your AI conversations
  • Your browsing history or the URLs you visit
  • Your real name, physical address, or government ID
  • Health, financial, or payment card information
  • Passwords or authentication credentials
  • Personal communications (emails, messages, etc.)

4. How we use your data

  • To decide which ad to show and record verified impressions and clicks
  • To calculate and deliver USDC payouts to your linked wallet
  • To display your earnings in the extension popup and user dashboard
  • To show anonymised totals on the public leaderboard (only if you set a username)
  • To detect and prevent fraudulent impression activity

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising profiling, or share it with third parties outside the purposes listed above.

5. Third-party services

  • Privy — handles wallet creation and authentication on the website. Privy's privacy policy applies to data processed through their service.
  • Fly.io — hosts our API and database infrastructure in the EU and US regions.

6. Data retention

Impression and click event records are retained for as long as your account is active plus 12 months for audit purposes. If you uninstall the extension and request deletion, we will remove your install ID and associated events within 30 days. Settled payout records may be retained longer for financial compliance.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing us at privacy@meanwhile.cash. If you are located in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the website and, where possible, via an extension update notification. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.
